Mikumi National Park is Tanzania's fourth-largest national park and one of the most accessible from Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam. Often called 'Little Serengeti,' Mikumi offers excellent wildlife viewing in a less-crowded setting.

The park's Mkata Flood Plains attract large herds of elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and buffalo. Predators include lions, leopards, African wild dogs, and hyenas. The park is also home to hippos in the Mkata River and over 400 bird species.

A two-day safari includes game drives, overnight at a lodge inside or near the park, and a guided bush walk.
